Environmental Data and Model Catalog (EnDMC)
Welcome to The Water Institute’s EnDMC, which simplifies the management and discovery of environmental data and models. Note that while EnDMC is part of The Water Institute’s broader open data and open science initiative, it is currently for INTERNAL use only.
This application will allow you to:
- Create metadata for the model, simulation, and/or (non-model) dataset you want to include in the repository;
- Upload the digital assets associated with your metadata entry; and
- Search and download the model, simulation, and/or dataset files you need.
In order to use most of the functionalities of the repository, you need to register or login if you have an existing account.
All users can search and download model and simulations filed. In order to create metadata and upload the digital assets associated with it, you need an editor role. This can be requested in the registration form and can be approved by an admin user.
EnDMC is a Data Management tool to be used to capture metadata on final or authoritative data/model outputs.
For modeling projects please include links to any model application layer created for a project in the project’s Data Management Workbook (on the Project Links tab), in order to keep all relevant project information, links and data in one place.
For non-modeling projects please include the links to any dataset layer created for a project in the project’s Data Management Workbook (on the Project Links tab), in order to keep all relevant project information, links and data in one place.
Please reach out to the Institute’s Data Manager (Brittany Jensen) if you have any questions about how to do this or what should be entered into EnDMC for specific projects.
Please keep in mind that EnDMC serves as a directory and may point you to other Institute locations / applications (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise, GitHub, etc.) in order to find exactly what you’re looking for.
This application is currently under development, thanks to the efforts of Christian, Lorena, Derek, and Myles. Please provide us with any feedback via this survey that would help us improve your user experience. For general questions or more in-depth feedback, please contact us at endmc@thewaterinstitute.org.
